A Sun, Which Is A Star

"A sun, a shadow of a magnitude,"
So Keats has written- yet what, truly, could
Come closer to pure godhead than a sun,
Which is a star! Ours not the only one,
But ours, but nearer, so that we can say
We live by starlight the night takes away,
Leaving us many stars in place of one
Yet with less starlight than there was by day
Before that nearer, brighter, star had gone-
And if those others seem too far away,
Too high to care, remember: All we are,
All that we have, is given us by a star.
