BY THE PIPE MAKER ON SEEING THE ADVERTISEMENT IN THE GAZETTE
OFFERING ON THE PART OF THE OFFICERS OF THE 46 TH A REWARD OF
TWO HUNDRED POUNDS FOR THE DETECTION OF HIM

—— Haeret lateri, lethalis arundo
—————— The deadly Dart
Sticks in his side, and rankles in his heart

Two Hundred Pounds! a tempting Sum
But whence my Heroes must it come
Not from your pockets I declare
A Sum so great was never there
For if it were I vow by Jove
With shiners I’m so much in love
That I would boldly tell my name
And your two hundred quickly claim
If then you mean Boys what you say
And really have the pow’r to pay
Down with your Dumps and let me see
That you possess th’ Ability
For altho I might take a kick
For Payment, I will not on tick
