in ten thousand years a shoewill emerge from bog mudcracked, seamy leatherunlaced and tiny

this used to be boglandfar as the eye goes

what passes for history passestense never changesa shoe still means teapotpan, whiskhat means belts and soupbowls

what grew here, what growsnever could mould a shoenever could dig it

this was boglanda house, a garden

why this shoe is tiny, onlythis shoe caught off guardten thousand years in the drying
